  • Cat Wilson new exhibition: Sky Eternal

    NSoA member Cat Wilson is showing a new immersive video installation titled ‘Sky Eternal’ at the PhotoAccess Huw Davies Gallery in Canberra. This exhibition alongside ‘Wild Blue Yonder’, PhotoAccess’ annual Members exhibition, and ‘Up in the Air’ by Claire Grant, employs the sky space to explore the human condition.

    The exhibition continues until July 30 and opening times are The - Sat 10am - 4pm. If you are in Canberra over this month be sure to pop in.

  • E-Bike Raffle Drawn

    The Narooma School of Art 2022 E Bike raffle was drawn on Sunday 26 June.

    We are pleased to announce the winner: Niall McInnes

    The raffle was drawn at the NSoA stand at the Narooma Rotary Markets by the Vice President of the NSoA Bob Aston.

    The NSoA would like to thank our generous supporter Narooma Cycles for the E Bike.

  • Notice of Annual General Meeting

    The AGM of Narooma School of Arts & Soldiers’ War Memorial Hall has been scheduled.

    DATE: TUESDAY 1 MARCH

    TIME: 6PM

    VENUE: Narooma School of Arts Studios

    At the AGM you will receive a report for 2021 and elect a new committee. All NSoA members are invited and we hope to see you there.

    People must be fully paid members and membership can be renewed or purchased on the members page on the website.

  • River of Art Prize features local artists

    The River of Art Prize 2021 is now showing at the Narooma Gallery. The exhibition continues until Sunday 6 February 4pm.

    The River of Art noted that 50 artists entered a total of 63 works from within and beyond the Eurobodalla region demonstrating again the quality and commitment of artists in our region. This includes Janet Jones, a local artist of Narooma whose watercolour work titled ‘Grumley’s Bridge’ was shortlisted for the prize.

    The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm each day until Sunday 6 February 2022.

  • River of Arts Prize 2021 winners announced

    The River of Art Prize 2021 was announced on Friday 21 January 2021.

    Geoffrey Odger’s work, ‘Burnt Offering’ was awarded the River of Art Prize. The Prize is valued at $2,000.00.

    The second award went to Victoria Collins for ‘Sapling Forest in Crimson’, and the highly commended prize to Grace Paleg for ‘Kiss the Floor.’

    Congratulations to each artist for their awards in the 2021 River of Art Prize Exhibition.

  • River of art Prize Delivery Day

    The 2021 River of Art Prize is almost here. Opening from Friday 21 January, works were delivered to the Narooma School of Art today.

    Thanks to all the entrants for participating. The winner will be announced on Friday 21 January 2022.

  • Lorem Artis

    15 - 23 January 2022 at the Mechanics Institute, Moruya

    The Lorum Artis group presents an exhibition that marks the 2-year anniversary of the bushfires. Each artist explores their own personal stories of recovery through paint, sculpture, textile and print. Click the link to checkout the workshops on offer during the exhibition.

  • Do you have the skills?

    The School of Arts Management Committee is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic members of our community.

    First, we urgently need a Treasurer to join the SOA committee, following the resignation of our wonderful and long serving Treasurer Anne McCusker. Knowledge of QuickBooks is essential.

    We are also looking for EOIs for people to join our Finance, Grant Application, and Communications and Marketing Subcommittees.

  • NSoA Gallery re-opens Friday 12 November

    The NSoA is excited to be re-opening its gallery with work by Eurobodalla Shire artist Elizabeth McCrystal. This s a mixed media exhibition that uses roadwork and construction aesthetics to analyse the concept of romantic love.

    As part of this exhibition Liz is presenting an artist talk and zine launch: Sunday 21 November, 2:30 - 3:30pm

  • River of Art Festival - is virtual

    The River of Art Festival is showcasing the Eurobodalla’s vibrant arts community online. Unable to present this festival as an IRL (in real life) event, River of Art is taking artists and festival goers on a virtual journey.   • Time Stretches My Limits

    Time Stretches My Limits is an exhibition of new work by Dalmeny based artist Natasha Dusenjko. Incorporating large-scale video projection and photography, it is a sonic and visual self-portrait exploring time in the context of self-isolation. Created amidst intermittent COVID lockdowns, the work was made inside the artist’s studio; a heritage listed former church in Dalmeny and is a psychological and visceral experience.

    Exhibition dates: Saturday 30 October - Sunday 13 November 2021

  • Local Artist selected as a finalist in new prize

    Local Artist Cat Wilson has been selected as a finalist in the Northern Beaches Environmental Art & Design Awards for 2021.The Environmental Art & Design Prize is a new platform inviting artists to share their response to the Australian landscape.

  • Break out the champagne!

    On June 30 the NSW State and Federal Governments announced the outcome of the Bushfire Recovery grants. Narooma has been granted over $10 million overall in funds for the Narooma Mountain Bike Club to build a Mountain Bike Trail hub, Narooma School of Arts to build a new Arts and Community Centre and the Wagonga Local Aboriginal Land Council has funding to build the new Muliyaan Cultural and Wildlife Centre.

    Congratulations to NSoA member Jenni Bourke who won the Bermagui Sculpture Prize 2021 with her new work Critical Interface.

  • Narooma Arts & Community Centre Project

    Narooma School of Arts has applied for a $7.28m grant from the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery (BLER) Fund on behalf of the community to build the long awaited Narooma Arts & Community Centre (NACC).
